Josephine Bell, 90, of Colfax died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Newton Health Care Center.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Colfax United Methodist Church, with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

May 2, 1923 - November 17, 2013Josephine Bell, age 90 of Colfax, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Newton Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. the Colfax United Methodist Church, with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, for 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Raymond and May (Wickliff) Buckley, Josephine was born on May 2, 1923, in Colfax. On February 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Earl Bell in Independence, Missouri. Josephine was a homemaker and lived in Colfax all of her life. She was a 50 year member of the Colfax United Methodist Church, Rose of Sharon E.O.S., Kiwanis Club, Colfax Senor Citizen Center, Colfax Historical Society, 4-H and Cub Scouts. Josephine was named Women of the Year and the queen at the Colfax Historical Citizens Banquet.
Those left to honor her memory include her two children, Judith Kay Bell Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Larry (Mary Jo) Bell of Marion, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kimberly Kay (Paul) Stielow, Gina Ryna (Chris) Wright, Justin Ray Bell, Benjamin Lee Bell, and Jennifer Ann Bell; great grandchildren, Jessica Williams, Chesley (Jessica) Williams, Jesse Robert Stielow, Jeremy Allen Stielow, Levi Wright, Tyler Wright, and Sarah Wright and two great great grandchildren, Jashawn Treyton Fleming and Emerson Bell Williams. Also surviving include a sister Violet (Dean) Revell of Newton and two brothers, Arnold (June) Buckley of Des Moines and Zane Buckley of Centerville. Preceding Josephine in death were her parents, husband in 2001, six sisters, Dorothy Breckenridge, Jessie Couch, Mollie Warrick, Carrie Paulson, Joy Christen, and Ruth Hope; two brothers, Ralph Buckley and Lee Buckley and a son-in-law, George P. Jones in 1997. The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
