Lucille M. Schulz, 94, of Newton died on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Heritage Manor Care Center.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials in Lucille’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Lucille, the daughter of Frank and Enona (Hillsabeck) Berry, was born on June 5, 1919, in rural Jasper County, Iowa. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Lucille worked in housekeeping and later as head of housekeeping at Skiff Medical Center, retiring in 1984. Lucille was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary, WRC, Golden Agers, and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed flowers, crocheting, canning, and building things — including building her own home.

Lucille is survived by her children, Patricia (Frank) Biehn of Marshalltown and Ronald (Bonnie) Holder of Newton; eight grandchildren, Ed (Eileen) Biehn, Pamela Catron, Jeff (Tersa) Biehn, Ronda (Nate) Olipas, Todd (Sarah) Holder, Paula (Matt) Gates, Patrick Carter, Chris Holder; her many great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lowell Carter and Chuck Holder; and a sister, Wanda Berry. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.
