In memory of John M. Stone1950-2012

A celebration of John M. Stone's life was held September 21, 2013.

John passed away June first, 2012, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was born October 12, 1950, in Manchester, Iowa, to Wayne and Dorothy Stone of Delhi, Iowa. John graduated with the Maquoketa Valley class of 1969.

He worked as a cheese maker, oil field worker, truck driver, and as a tree farmer in Hopkinton, Iowa. For many years he lived on a house boat in Oregon. He loved the water, sailing, and a good story.

John is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Pamela Stone of Newton, Iowa, one nephew, one niece, four grand-nephews and one grand-niece, cousins in Iowa, Mississippi, and Oregon. He is also survived by his wife Debrah Miles. Preceding John in death were his parents, his sister Linda Ruoff, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.Rest in peace, John. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy, Des Moines, Iowa.
