John W. Buckroyd, Former Resident, Dies; Rites Set
John W. Buckroyd, 34, of 1008 2nd St. S. E., Cedar Rapids, a resident of Newton until 1968, died recently at Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Stan Wierson, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Survivors are three daughters, Teresa, Tanya and Tabby, all of Newton; his father, Leonard Springer of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Karl (Mary) Enlow of Hemet, Calif., and Mrs. Rex (Linda) Thompson of Grinnell; and two brothers, David Davidson of Colfax and Donald Davidson of Arkansas.
Also surviving are his aunts, Mrs. Belle Curtis of Newton, Nora and Peggy Springer, both of Newton, Margaret Buckroyd of Colfax and Harriet Hinshaw of California; and an uncle, Bill Buckroyd of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother, Gene Davidson.
Mr. Buckroyd was a baker.
The son of Fred and Lola Lane Buckroyd, he was born May 27, 1944 in Newton and attended Newton schools.
He left Newton in 1968.
