Ila M. “Lucky” Thompson, 75, of Newton died on Monday, July 15, 2013 at her home in Newton.

Those left to honor Lucky's memory are her two daughters, Konny (Greg) Sinton of Richland, Washington, and Johnette (Doug) Routh of Kenific, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her good friend, Virgil Gearhart of Newton; two step sons, Pat Gearhart of Grinnell, and Quinten (Jill) Gearhart of Newton; and five step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Opal Roovaart; and ex-husband, Johnny Thompson in 1972.

Lucky has lived in Newton for many years, and she had also lived in Oskaloosa. She had been a production worker and a home healthcare worker.

Lucky hopes people will remember her by loving and taking care of little animals.

Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League & Humane Society may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Thompson Family on the envelope.
