Jennie Goodwin Dies Saturday
Prairie City – Funeral services for Mrs. Edwin Joseph (Jennie Alice) Goodwin, 90, a resident of Prairie City since 1949, and a longtime resident of Baxter, were held today at the United Methodist Church in Prairie City.
The Rev. Clifford Knight, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Walters Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
Survivors are a son, Russell Edwin Goodwin of Tampa, Fla., a daughter, Mrs. Joseph L. (Louise) McKlveen of Prairie City; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband July 31, 1953.
Mrs. Goodwin was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ.
She has been a longtime piano teacher.
The daughter of Peter Jacob and Lucina Belle Stone Cool, she was born Jan. 27, 1882 at Clyde, was graduated from Baxter High School and attended Grinnell College.
She was married Jan. 23, 1901 in Des Moines.
Mrs. Goodwin died Saturday at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
