SERVICES HELD

Funeral services were held July 17 in Van Nuys, Calif., for Goldie Mae (Walker) Brown, 66, who died July 16 at the home of her daughter in Sepulveda, Calif.

Graveside services were held July 29 at Hickory Grove cemetery by Newburg with the Rev. Hugh Shiveley of the First Baptist Church in Grinnell officiating.

Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 13, 1906, in rural Jasper County.

On April 30, 1923, she was married to Leon E. Brown. To this union five children were born.

Survivors include her children--Mrs. Edith Talbot of Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs.George (Lauretta) Pearce of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Mrs. Wilma Hale of Sepulveda, Caliaf., Mrs. James (Judith) Stucky of Denair, Calif., and Robert G. Brown of LaGrande, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; two brothers--Harold Walker of Newton and Earl Walker of Elyria, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Alma) Lauber of Waterloo, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Everett and Philip.
