Darrel Eccles, 74, died May 10, 2013, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services are Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Central Christian Church in Boone. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone.

He was an Army Vietnam veteran. Darrel married Joyce Thrap in Boone on April 8, 1961. Darrel worked as a surveyor for Lechner Engineering in Ames and then worked for the City of Boone at the water treatment plant, retiring in 2000.

Darrel is survived by his wife Joyce of Boone; a son Jeff (Lynn) Eccles of Farmington, MN; a daughter Kari (David) Frost of Boone; a sister Joanne (Bill) Hunter of Newton; two grandsons, Mason and Tanner Frost of Boone; and a sister-in-law Glenda Eccles of Ogden.

Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 until 8 p.m.
