Donald Roy Morse

Donald Roy Morse, 86, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on May 5, 2013, at the Samantha Wilson Care Center at Bayview. A native of Alexandria, Minn., he resided in St. Augustine for the past 44 years. Don was the retired administrator of the Social Security Administration. He was a very active member of Trinity Episcopal Church and belonged to the Independent Luncheon Club, Marsh Creek Country Club, and Elks Lodge #829. He was also past District Governor of Lions International. Don was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army.

Don is survived by his son, Robert G. (Becky) Morse of Washington, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia Pomerenke of Yakima, Wash., and Darlene Koppin of Newton, Iowa; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Barbie; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June and his son, Donald M. Morse.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. David J. Weidner, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 215 St. George St., St. Augustine, FL 32084.
