Fred McMurray went to Des Moines this morning, having received word of the death of his brother, John McMurray, who left here some eighteen years ago since which time he had been running a transfer line in Des Moines.

It was only learned within the past day or two that John was sick and it was not then known that he was seriously ill, so the news of his death came as a shock. He leaves a family of wife and four children. It was not yet known this morning whether the funeral would be here or in Des Moines.

Later – The funeral will be held at the residence of F. A. McMurray in this city at 2:30 o’clock.

The McMurray funeral party arrived at 1:20 from Des Moines this afternoon and proceeded at once to the residence of Fred McMurray where services were held at 2:30 o’clock, being conducted by Rev. J. W. Hackley.
