--- J. S. Binkerd, who died at his home in this place last Tuesday night, was 55 years of age and had been ill for several months past. He was a soldier in the union army, serving faithfully in the 13th Iowa Infantry and at the time of his death was drawing a pension for disabilities incurred in the discharge of his duty. His funeral will take place from the residence to-day, and the remains will be interred at the McKeever graveyard in Poweshiek township, where his first wife is buried. He leaves a wife and five children. The funeral was delayed in anticipation of the arrival of Mr. Huffaker, Mrs. Binkard's father from Kentucky.
