Charles Walker

Yesterday evening Rev. J. P. Dowd of the Free Methodist Church received a telegram announcing the death, at three o’clock yesterday, of Charles Walker, who left here about two months ago for Pierre Point, S. D. to make his home.

Mr. Walker formerly lived the second door west of the city hall. Since going to South Dakota he had been building a new house and it is understood that he had been working very hard. It is thought that his death was due to heart failure.

Another telegram was received today announcing that the funeral party will arrive in Newton Monday and that the arrangements for the funeral, which will probably be held Tuesday, will then be completed. ~ The Newton Daily Herald, Saturday, April 25, 1903, Page 1, Column 5
