Richard Thomason died at his home here last Wednesday at midnight of lung disease after months of suffering.

Mr. Thomason was about 76 years old at the time of his death.

He leaves eight children and many grandchildren to mourn his death. The children are Lewis, furniture and undertaker in Monroe; James and Benjamin in their hardware business here; Henry near Fairmount and William living between Monroe and Newton. The daughters are Mrs. Lucy Barr, Mrs. Catherine Rouch and Mrs. Jane Rouch.

The funeral took place Friday afternoon from the M. E. Church, Rev. J. A. Ross conducted the services. The interment was in Monroe Cemetery by the wife who passed to rest about two years ago.
