Willis Green, an old time resident of this city, died yesterday at his home in Marengo, Illinois, and the remains will reach here tomorrow morning. The funeral will be held in the M. E. Church at three o’clock tomorrow.

Until six years ago Mr. Green lived here and had since away back in the ’40’s. He was in his eighty-eighth year. He was the father of Mrs. John N. Wilson of this city.

The I. O. O. F. will have charge of the funeral. Mr. Green having for a great many years been a member of that order. He was perhaps the oldest continuous member in the state. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily Herald, Tuesday, May 19, 1903, Page 1, Column 2
