Funeral of Judge Winslow

The funeral services over the body of the late Judge Winslow were held at the Congregational Church last Thursday afternoon, and were very largely attended. A large number of Masons were present from surrounding towns and the funeral was in charge of that fraternity, Newton Lodge No. 59, A. F. and A. M. conducting the services at the grave through O. N. Wagley, W. M. The Knights Templar acted as escort.

The funeral services at the church were very impressive. A male quartette composed of Fred Meredith, H. M. Vaughan, Lee Brown and A. C. Keinath, sang several selections. Rev. B. C. Baumgardner and Rev. C. C. Harrah conducted the services and made excellent addresses.

The floral tributes were very beautiful, the set pieces from the different Masonic orders being especially so. ~ The Newton (IA) Record Thursday, December 21, 1899
