A Good Man Gone

J. H. Schull died at his home in Palo Alto Township last Thursday and was buried in the Wild Cat Cemetery (Palo Alto) on Saturday. Mr. S. had only been sick a few days, and his death was a surprise to most of his friends. His age was 54 years.

He was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, May 8, 1845, but has been a resident of Iowa since 1851.

He was married to Miss Fannie Bartholomew near this city on the 20th day of Feb. 1878. His companion died in January 1893, leaving to his care five sons and three daughters. He was a tender, loving father, and a good man in every way.

The funeral services were held on Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. C. V. Cowan. The orphan children have the universal sympathy in their bereavement. ~ The Newton Record, Thursday, June 8, 1899, Page 1, Column 6
