February 8, 1973John McNew, 71, Dies At Newton
John McNew, father of Mrs. Ron Childs, 806 Fairview Drive, died Wednesday afternoon in a hospital at Newton following a lengthy illness.
Last rites will be Saturday morning at the Toland Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will also be in Newton.
John McNew, 71 is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Childs, Fairfield; Mrs. Joan Stevens, Newton; and Mrs. Martha Guthrie, also of Newton; one son, Larry McNew, Apache Junction, Arizona; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
