Max R. Hubbard, 88, of Newton, formerly of Reasnor, died on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Reasnor United Methodist Church or to the Reasnor Volunteer Fire Department may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Hubbard Family on the envelope.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Newton; children, Steve (Penny) Hubbard of Cedar Rapids, Carol (Les) Norris of Newton, Eileen (Larry) Cope of Douglas, Wyoming, and Alan Hubbard of Kimberling City, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Shirleen Light, and Connie Weislander.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Chris Hubbard, great-granddaughter, Jessica Simmons; great-grandson, Kenny Baker; sister, Cora Belle Evans, and two brothers, Joe and LeeRoy Hubbard. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Website.

Visitation: The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Those left to honor Max's memory are his wife of 67 years, Carolyn of Newton; children, Steve (Penny) Hubbard of Cedar Rapids, Carol (Les) Norris of Newton, Eileen (Larry Cope of Douglas, Wyoming, and Alan Hubbard of Kimberling City, Missouri; his eleven grandchildren, Steve Hubbard, Kim Hubbard, Sheri Norris, Lisa (Chris) Van Gorp, Michael (Marsha) Norris, Brad (Nicole) Cope, Erin (Bill) Morrison, Angie (Ted) Claney, Dustin (Angela) Cope, Amanda Baker, and Lucas Hubbard; thirty great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Shirleen Light, and Connie Weislander. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Chris Hubbard, great-granddaughter, Jessica Simmons; great-grandson, Kenny Baker; sister, Cora Belle Evans, and two brothers, Joe and LeeRoy Hubbard.

Max had served in the U. S. Navy.

Max was a graduate of Edison High School in Edison, Nebraska in 1944.

Max farmed in Kellogg for many years, he later worked for Farmhand in Grinnell. Max retired from the Maytag Company in 1989. He attended of the Reasnor United Methodist Church and was on the Reasnor Volunteer Fire Department. Max loved being with his family, especially the grandchildren and their families. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Memorials to the Reasnor United Methodist Church or to the Reasnor Volunteer Fire Department may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Hubbard Family on the envelope.
