Mary Maxine Anderson, of Dixon, was born on February 8, 1929, in Newton, Iowa, a daughter of the Otis LeRoy and Zella Cochran, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mrs. Anderson had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 78 years, two months, and 16 days.

She was preceded in death by her father on June 15, 1980; her mother on March 14, 1987; and three sisters, Myrna Van Hoosen, Lois Bassett and Betty Fortney.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Dixon United Methodists Church; was a teacher in the 4-H program in Dixon during the 1950s and 1960s; was a member of the Hancock friendship club; and enjoyed sewing, making quilts and crafts in general. During her working life she had decorated wedding cakes, operated a dance school, worked in the fountain area at Clark's Drug Store, Dixon, owned and operated Andy's Family Room, and had been a cook at both the Dixon High School and the Dixon Senior Citizens Center.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Anderson include: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Julia Anderson, Western Grove Arkansas; two daughters and sons in law, Becky and Stanley Martin, Dixon; and Penny and Don Moats, Dixon; two brothers and one sister, Norman Cochran, Tommy Cochran and Wanda Loughridge all of the Rolla area; eight grandchildren, Travis Martin and wife April, Dixon; Eric Kirk and wife Tina, Harrison, Arkansas; Scott Moats and wife Michele, Pekin, Illinois; Tara Hoard, Dixon; David Kirk, Dixon; Luke Anderson, Western Grove, Arkansas; Lance Anderson, Little Rock, Arkansas and Blake Anderson Harrison, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren, Rachel Kirk, Khale Hoard, Alivia Martin, Jacob Martin, Jeremiah Martin and Harlie Anderson and many other relatives and friends.
