James Alan Nimmo, 45, of Shakopee, Minnesota, died Thursday, December 21, 2012.

A private memorial service with family and close family friends will be held Thursday, December 27 at Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home in Boone, Iowa. Burial will take place at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton, Iowa, following the service.

Memorial donations are suggested to: Boone Area Humane Society 228 West 16th Street, Boone, Iowa 50036.

James Alan Nimmo
(December 10, 1967 - December 21, 2012)

James Alan Nimmo, 45, of Shakopee, Minnesota, died Friday, December 21, 2012.

Jim was born in Albert Lee, Minnesota, December 10, 1967. He attended Ogden High School where he was active in choir, musicals, and various clubs. He moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1987. In July, 2011 he moved to Shakopee, MN where he was recently employed at MRCI Workforce. He took pride in his job and was well liked by his co-workers. Jim had a love for animals, music, movies and had a strong faith. He read the Bible daily and often offered friends advice and strength through His word. He also had a love for laughter. Jim’s humor helped brighten the days of his friends and loved ones.

Jim is survived by his parents, John and Florence Nimmo of Boone, Iowa; brother Patrick (Sanna) Nimmo of Poughquag, NY; sister Joanna (Mike) Sorber of Jefferson, Iowa; nieces Mallory and Mollie Sorber of Jefferson, Iowa, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ray and Cleo Nimmo and Lester and Velda Slycord.
