It was with profound sorrow that we chronicle the death of Rev. G. W. Hertzog who, after weeks of illness, passed away at noon Saturday, Sept. 12, 1902. Father Hertzog was about 81 years old. He had been the pastor of the Baptist Church, previous to the call of Rev. Mills, for many years, and all his friends looked to him as a tender loving father, gentle, kind and saintly. His work is done and well done and he has entered into that rest that remains for God’s children. The aged wife and children have the deepest sympathy of the community. The hour of the funeral is not set yet.
