Uncle Samuel Scarborough, whose death has so long been expected, passed away this morning at his home in this city. He was 79 years of age and had for some time been failing. He was born in Ohio and came to Iowa in an early day and has a large acquaintance over Jasper County. He was a substantial and respected citizen and reared a fine family to whom he leaves a legacy of an honored reputation. The funeral will be held at the residence at 9 o’clock Monday and the remains will be taken to Monroe for interment.
