Joseph Palmer, a farmer living five or six miles southwest of Colfax, was found dead in his pasture yesterday. He had gone to the pasture to catch a team of horses, and had haltered them and tied the halter straps together. The straps had somehow got tangled and wrapped about the man’s wrists, and the horses had run and dragged him and kicked him to death.
