Mrs. I. U. Ikenberry was born in Vernon, Iowa, and lived in St. Louis until eighteen years of age when she was married. One child, Lela, was the first fruit of that union. Three years later she was married to I. U. Ikenberry at Oskaloosa, where they lived two years, moving to Newton in 1891. Mrs. Ikenberry was a very valuable assistant to her husband in the photography studio, seemingly devoted to the art for art’s sake. She was apparently in good health until recently. She leaves a husband, daughter and little son to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother.
