Louis L. Andrews died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George D. Harrah, on West Washington Street.

Deceased was born in Hudson, Ohio, Dec. 19, 1830. He removed to Lincoln, Ill., where he was married to Miss Phoebe Williams in 1862. They came to Iowa in 1866 and had for many years been residents of Newton.

Mr. Andrews was a carriage maker by trade and was a sober, industrious, trustworthy man. For the past few years he had been in business in Winfield, Kansas, returning here a few months since when his health had failed.

There were four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrews. Two sons died in early childhood. Two daughters are living, Mrs. May Ledyard of Des Moines and Mrs. Neva Harrah of this city.

Mr. Andrews had been a member of the I. O. O. F. in earlier life but had never united with the order here. He was a charter member of the A. O. U. W. when it was organized here.

The funeral will occur at 9:30 o’clock tomorrow morning from the Harrah home, Rev. J. C. Willits having the services in charge. ~ The Newton Daily Herald, Thursday, July 31, 1902, Page 1, Column 4
