Illness Fatal to Ed Hart, 64
Funeral services to be Held Friday Afternoon
Rev. Mills in Charge

Ed Hart, 64, 815 West Fourth Street North, died today at 4 a.m. at the Skiff Memorial hospital, following a three-week illness of heart disease and kidney trouble.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the Morgan Funeral home by the Rev. Ross Mills, pastor of the Congregational church in Green Mountain. Interment will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
In Newton 36 Years

Mr. Hart had lived in Newton for nearly 36 years and had been employed at the Automatic Washer company since 1906. Previous to that time, he was employed at the Maytag company and the One Minute Washer company.

George Edward Hart, son of Isaac M. and Elizabeth Hart, was born at LeClaire, Scott County, Iowa, May 25, 1872, and was the last surviving member of a family of five children.

He came to Jasper county when a child and the family settled in the Wittemberg neighborhood, where he grew to manhood. They lived on what is now known as the old Langmaid farm.
Marriage

Mr. Hart was united in marriage to Amanda E. Stine, Jan 26, 1898, at Draper, Ia., and the couple went to housekeeping on a farm six miles north of Draper.

They lived on the farm for two and one-half years and then came to Newton, where they have lived since. They moved to the present home in 1912.

Surviving relatives are his wife, one son, Elvin E. Hart of Newton and one grandchild, Evelyn Hart.
