Dot Sheeler

Leroy Dot Sheeler, the son of Isaiah and Harriet Sheeler, was born in Keokuk County, Iowa on April 26, 1876 and passed away at his home in Monroe on March 9, 1940. His age at the time of his decease being 63 years, 10 months and 13 days.

On May 25, 1902 he was united in marriage to Martha A, Dunaway,

When he was 16 years of age his parents moved to Monroe, and he lived in Monroe until the time of his sudden death. He was well known in and around Monroe having been in the garage business for many years. He will ever be remembered in the community in which he lived as a fine neighbor and a good friend.
He is preceded in death by four sisters.
Surviving his departure besides his wife are two brothers, Austin Sheeler and Howard Sheeler of Monroe. Left to mourn his death also are three sisters, Mrs. Annis Morman and Mrs. Hattie Palmer of Monroe and Mrs. Lourinda Jarnagin of Des Moines besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church by Rev. J. M. Carlson on Monday afternoon at 1:30 and the body was laid to rest in the Monroe Cemetery.

Music was furnished by Misses Almeda Green and Dorothy Van Ryswyk.

The songs sung were Jesus I Com, Saved by Grace, and Going Down the Valley. Mrs. Emma Sweeney played the piano.

The pall bearers were J. M. De Leeuw, Harley Green, Les Beyers, Vern Cating, F. A. Whitted and Albert Noon.
