Marvin E. Pendroy, 78, of Monroe died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his home.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Prairie City Christian Church, with burial following at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. February 7, 1934 - September 26, 2012

Marvin E. Pendroy, age 78 of Monroe, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie City Christian Church, with burial following at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Christian Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Harold and Emma (Birkenholz) Pendroy, Marvin was born on February 7, 1934 at his home in rural Jasper County. He graduated from Monroe High School. On February 4, 1953, he was united in marriage to LaVonne Clark in Prairie City. A life long resident of Monroe, Marvin farmed and was a member of the Prairie City Christian Church.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, LaVonne; children, Philip (Deb) Pendroy, Paul (Lynn) Pendroy, Perry (Pam) Pendroy, and Pat (Karen) Pendroy all of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, Paula (Garrett) Van Der Hart, Vance (Kari Gall) Pendroy, Jennifer (Mark) Thompson, Jacob (Angie) Clark, James (Stephanie) Clark, Jackie (Jeremy) Dittmer, Kelli Walker, Nathan Walker, Zachary Pendroy and Krystal Pendroy; and 16 great grandchildren, Taylor, Gracie, Brendon, Kaylie, Chelsey, Adreyon, Keondra, Deondra, Kaden, Kolby, Piper, Hannah, Kynlee, Layla, Aaliyah, and Korynn. Preceding Marvin in death were his parents, a daughter, Phyllis LeeAnn, a sister, Marlene, and a brother, Harold, Jr. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home Website.
