Frances Fay Lester, 93, of Newton passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice in Newton.

A funeral service will be at a later date. Memorials to Skiff Hospice may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Frances Fay Davis was born on Feb. 2, 1919 in Monroe County, Iowa. Frances was a resident of Newton since 1928, except for three years when she moved to Los Angeles, California. Frances was married to Charles Lester on February 7, 1943 in California. Frances was employed by Winpower Mfg. Co. for 12 years, 1957 to 1969. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and crafting.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Gary (Beth) Lester of Newton; two grandsons, Chuck (Donna) Lester of Kansas and David (Rachel) Lester of Newton; one step-granddaughter, Kelee Greene of Kentucky; and four great-grandchildren, Chuck and Stephanie Lester of Kansas and Harlee and Devin Lester of Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, September 10. 2012.
