Donnie Lee Johnston, 65, of Baxter died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the funeral home. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 13, 2012

Visitation: The family will greet friends from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa.

Those left to honor Donnie's memory are his two sons, Scott (Monica) Johnston of Baxter and Steve (Joni) Johnston of Baxter; eight grandchildren, Brooke and her husband, Scott, Brittany, Haley, Bailey, Madison, Brock, Peyton and Kael; his two great-grandchildren, Myah and Kingston; mother, Betty of Baxter; and his two sisters, Linda (Chuck) Gauch of Newton and Janie (Rich) Perry of Baxter. He was preceded in death by his father, Donnell.

Donnie was a farmer

Donnie enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He also had an avid love for animals.
