The Journal (Newton, Iowa) Wed. July 14, 1886

We are pained to announce to our readers the sudden and untimely death of Willie Vaughan, which occurred Thursday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m. He was sick about ten days and suffered untold agonies. Inflammation of the bowels was the cause of death. Willie was a bright and promising boy, having graduated from Kellogg High School just four weeks ago Friday. The class of ’86, and his numerous young friends will greatly mourn his loss
