Ernst Brune Dies After Brief Illness

Ernst Brune, who resided about six miles southeast of Blue Hill, died early Monday morning after an illness of only three days. His death was due to a complication of intestinal disorder.

Mr. Brune’s death came as a shock to his many friends as few knew that he was seriously ill.
The funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. Didlaukiis.

Ernst Brune was born in Kirchaide (s/b Kirchhiede), Lippe Detmold, Germany, Jan. 2, 1885 and came to the United States in 1885, locating at South Bend, Cass county, Nebraska. In 1888 he moved with his family to Webster county and resided here until his death. Mr. Brune was twice married, his first wife, to whom he was united in Germany in 1882, was Miss Henrietta Buba, who died in 1893.To this union six children were born, five of whom are living. They were Mrs. John Wademan, Miss Emma, Charles, Miss Lena and William. In April 1912, he was married to Mrs. Pauline Trine, who survives him. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters, Simon of Eustis, Henry of Blue Hill; Mrs. Ernst Deppe of Kellogg, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Coppin (s/b Koppin) of Newton, Iowa and a sister Henrietta, who lives in Germany.

Gustave Trine, son of Mrs. Brune, and Adolph and Rudolf Huesser, nephews of the deceased and members of Co. K, who were at the national guard camp at Ashland, were excused from service at the military maneuvers and returned here to attend the funeral.
