WES MCCRACKEN DIED SUDDENLY ON MONDAY

Was Well Known Farmer and Stock Feeder of this Community

Wesley McCracken, age 64, well known farmer and stock feeder of this vicinity, passed away unexpectedly at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines Monday, January 14, after fourteen weeks of illness. He had been in the hospital about three weeks and was receiving treatment for his knee, which had been injured two years ago and was seemingly recovering, plans being made for him to be about in a wheel chair on Tuesday. A postmortem examination showed death to have resulted from a blood clot.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Paul Jones, Mrs. Dave Edwards, Miss Florence McCracken of Colfax, one son Dewey McCracken of Sioux City, and one brother Frank P. McCracken.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Christian Church at 2:30. This service will be preceded by a private service at the home.
