Mrs. Florence Gill Little was born in West Liberty, Iowa, July 3, 1860; died March 10, 1896, at her home in Prairie City. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Gill. December 29, 1881, she was united in marriage to Joseph H. Little who with four small children mourn her absence. She gave her heart to God in childhood and her life has given evidence of a quiet but living, trusting Christian; devoted to her home and loved ones so entirely; ‘tis there her loss will be felt most keenly. The sweet halo of mother-love that has always surrounded this home, we trust will ever remain with the influence these bereaved ones. “She is not dead but gone before.” The funeral services were held at the home, Thursday afternoon conducted by her pastor, Rev. Riheldaffer, assisted by Revs. A. M. Shea of Des Moines, and J. J. Mitchell of this city. Among beautiful flowers in profusion, arranged by loving friends of church societies and neighbors, pure and spotless of her life, they laid her to rest. ~ The Newton (IA) Record, Friday, March 20, 1896, Page 1, Column 3
