Mrs. Hans Phare died at her home, in Elk Creek Township, Wednesday morning. The remains were laid to rest in the German Cemetery Friday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Boaden, of Kellogg. ~ The Newton (IA) Record, Friday, March 20, 1896, Page 5, Column 5
