Little Freddie, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. George Blair, died Thursday morning of membranous croup. He had had diphtheria, but seemed to be recovering, when on Monday he became worse again and was taken with the disease from which he died yesterday.

The funeral occurred at 4 o’clock of the same day. Other members of the family have had the diphtheria but are recovering.

The loss of their little one is a sad blow to Mr. and Mrs. Blair, and the hearts tenderly sympathize with them. Freddie’s third birthday would have been next Saturday. ~ The Newton Record, Newton, IA, Friday, March 20, 1896, Page 1, Column 3
