S. B. Tallman, of Sully, arrived in Newton Tuesday morning from Sanborn, O’Brien County, whither he had been called abut two weeks ago by the illness of his brother, David S. Tallman, who died on Wednesday the 5th inst. (of this month) of pneumonia and lung fever, and was buried on Friday.

David Tallman for many years resided on the Cyrus Taylor’s place near Sully, moving from there to Sanborn in 1891. His age was forty years. He had never been married, but had made his home with his aged mother to whom he was tenderly devoted. During his residence in Jasper County he had built up a large circle of warm friends, who will be sorely grieved on account of his death. ~ The Newton Record, Friday, February 14, 1896, Page 4, Column 3
