A. F. Bohne, 60 Dies Wednesday
Jasper County Farmer Dies at His Home in Amboy Neighborhood.
August F. Bohne, 60, Jasper county farmer, died Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock at his home in the Amboy neighborhood, following six months of failing health. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the St. John’s Evangelical church, with Rev. John Ruhl in charge.
Mr. Bohne was born Sept. 23, 1872, in Wisconsin, the son of H. A. and Carolina Bohne. The family moved to Jasper county in 1881, where the deceased had made his home, with the exception of seven years spent in Texas on a cattle ranch. At the time of his death, he lived on a farm in the Amboy neighborhood with his father and a brother, Charles.He is survived by his father, six brothers, Henry, John, Will, Fred, Herman and Charles, all of Newton and two sisters, Mrs. Ray McQuiston and Mary, also of Newton. He was preceded in death by his mother, who died in 1925, and a sister, Lottie. (also referred to as Lena)
