IRISH, CARNAHAN, VERSTEEGH

Mrs. Minne Miller Irish was born March 10, 1861, at Rensslaerville, Albany county, N. Y., and came to Iowa in 1883. She was the daughter of Jestus (Justus) and Elizabeth Miller.

On March 10, 1890, she was united in marriage to Irving A. Irish at Kellogg, Ia., and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Hazel Carnahan of Newburg, Ia., Clifford Irish of Killduff, Ia., and Mrs. Leota Versteegh of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who was a rural mail carrier for many years, and four brothers.

Mrs. Irish was a member of the Killduff Methodist church, also the Three Quarter Century club of Newton.

She had been in failing health for several months and became seriously ill following a fall suffered Jan. 11.

She passed away Feb. 3 at her home in Killduff where she had resided for the past 40 years.

She leaves her three children, 13 grandchildren, five of whom are in the Armed Service, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends to mourn her death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m., Feb. 6, at the Methodist church in Killduff with the pastor, Rev. B. H. Finch, in charge of the rites.

Music included two vocal duets, "Haven of Rest" and "Abide With Me," sung by Lyle and Jake Brand, with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Theo. Emmert.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Irish were: Jetson Adams, Roy Compton, Willard Wagaman, David Conn, Vernon Eichner and Clarence Zickel.

Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Vernon Eichner and Mrs. John Van Gilst. Burial was made in Our Silent City at Kellogg.
