Mary Margaret Haworth, the daughter of Everett Edward and Sarah Signa Carr McClure, was born Sept. 12, 1938, near Barnes City, Iowa. She graduated from the Montezuma Senior High School with the class of 1956 and went on to become a registered nurse.
Mary enjoyed the outdoors and passed this love on to her children and grandchildren. She taught both Andrea and James to hunt and fish. Mary also enjoyed taking photographs throughout her journey of life.
Mary died on Sunday, March 13, 2011, in the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 72 years old. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Edward McClure; and her sister, Jean Robinson.
Those left to honor Mary’s memory include her daughter, Andrea R. Haworth of Searsboro, Iowa; her son, James (Lisa) Haworth of Oskaloosa, Iowa; her grandchildren, Chance, Harrison, Julia and Austin; her great-granddaughter, Addison; and her brother, Lowell McClure of Grinnell, Iowa.
Services will be on Friday, March 18, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial may be designated to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and may be left at the church or at Pence-Reese Funeral Home.
