Danny Luing, 74, of Baxter died on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at this home.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the Bethany United Church of Christ in Baxter. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Danny Luing was born March 03, 1936. He serviced in the armed forces.
Those left to honor Danny's memory are his 2 daughters, Roseanne (Rick) Storm of Carlisle and Jennifer (Kevin) Schafer of Baxter; 3 grandchildren, Justin Storm and Marissa and Zachary Schafer; 2 great-grandchildren, Hunter and Makayla; his 2 sisters, Pattie Luce of Des Moines and Maxine (Joe) Thomas of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Karen Luing of Baxter; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Luing and Rosamond (Monahan) Quinnett; wife, Eva in 2009; a son, Howard, in infancy; his 3 brothers, Ernie, Howard, and Charles; and a sister, Wanda.
Danny was a third generation logger, selling trees to furniture makers.
He enjoyed playing cards, working in the yard, coon hunting, and being with his family.
