Helen Warner, 95, of Newton died on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at the Newton Health Care Center in Newton.
A graveside funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Newton Union Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Mark Young, Pastor of First Christian Church. Friends may call at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday until 12:45 p.m. Memorials have been designated to First Christian Church.
The daughter of George A. Early and Telora Edna Stallings, Helen was born July 16, 1915, in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the Class of 1933. On Dec. 3, 1938, in Newton, Helen was united in marriage to Cecil L. Warner. She lived most of her life one mile from the home in which she was born. Helen worked as a telephone operator and supervisor for United Telephone Company and as a secretary and data entry operator for Newton Manufacturing Company. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church and the LL Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil L. Warner; sisters Mary Livina Early in 1988; and Consuella Early as an infant in 1914.
Those left to honor the memory of Helen include her sons and daughters-in-law Larry D. and Sheila Warner of Everett, Wash., and Craig L. and Billie Warner of Texas, five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
