Rites held for Mr. Anderson
Alben Anderson, 94, of Rte. 1, Kellogg, died Friday, Jan. 18, [1985,] at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home, Newton, with the Rev. Trevor Davis-Hajek of the Kellogg United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg.
Memorials in Mr. Anderson's name may be made to the Pleasant View United Methodist Church.
The son of Andres and Anna Olson Anderson, he was born Oct. 7, 1890, near Kellogg. He was married to Mabel McCausland on Feb. 18, 1922, in Newton.
Mr. Anderson was a veteran of World War I and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Kellogg American Legion, a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, and a charter member of the Amboy Grange.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; two daughters, Helen Youngkin of Mesa, Ariz., and Crystal Rudd of Texarkana, Ark.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Merriman of Port Hueneme, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
