Marilyn K. Wallace, 67, of Colfax died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Wallace Family Funeral with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center presiding.
The family will greet friends with a dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 28, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Graham Cemetery in rural Mingo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn’s name may be left at the funeral home. Please make checks payable to Max Wallace.
The daughter of Clarence and Elma (Eatwell) Yoakum, Marilyn was born November 27, 1942 in Des Moines. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1961 and was a lifelong resident of the Colfax area. She married Max Wallace Aug. 27, 1961, in Colfax and worked for Preferred Risk Insurance, Newton Manufacturing, American Mutual Life and owned A-Seeding Contractors. She was a member of the IPMA and AGC. She enjoyed traveling, working in her garden and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Max Wallace of Colfax; a son, Sohn (Susan) Wallace of Urbandale; a daughter, Sherina (Jimmy) Terrell of Chariton; six grandchildren, Brady, Connor, and Sophie Wallace, Heather Terrell (fiancé Aaron King), Alyssa and Saydee Terrell; a great-grandson Kyler Terrell; two brothers, Don (Diane) Yoakum of Newton and Larry (Bonnie) Yoakum of Colfax along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
