Mary Margaret (Hill) Campbell, 94, of Newton; formerly of Coon Rapids, Iowa died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at her home at Park Centre in Newton. Services will be at a later date in Coon Rapids.
Mary the daughter of Frank E. and Hazel (Bryant) Hill was born on October 25, 1915 in Newton. She was a graduate of Newton High School. She was also a graduate of Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa with a degree in Dietetics and she served an internship at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana in Dietetics.
On December 29, 1939 Mary was united in marriage to Maurice A. Campbell in Newton.
Mary grew up in Newton and had lived in Coon Rapids since 1946 until recently moving back to Newton.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Kent) Cornish of Rock Island, Illinois; her son, James (Joan) Campbell of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her sister, Sarah Campbell of Clarinda, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Martha Hill of Newton and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Maurice in 1992; son, Paul Thomas Campbell; and three brothers, William, James and Tom Hill. Local arrangements are being handled by the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.
