Robert Mel Morris, 77, passed away, May 24, 2010, in Port Townsend, Wash.
He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Monroe, Iowa, and grew up near Kellogg, Iowa. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force and then returned to Iowa, where he farmed for several years. In 1969, he moved with his family to Seattle and began a career at Boeing that lasted more that 25 years. In 1993, he retired to Port Hadlock, where he volunteered his time and skills with the Boeing Bluebills and Habitat for Humanity. He loved woodworking, kite flying, animals and gardening.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Janice Morris of Seattle; a granddaughter, Caitlin; a brother, Marvin (Sally); his sisters, Marilyn (Al), Marcia (Dean) and Marvel (Russell); and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Chimacum, Wash.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 658, Port Townsend, WA 98368, or Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, P.O. Box 70 Chimacum, WA 98325.
