Brother of Melbourne Ladies Dies at Gilman
Everett Mitchell, 62, brother of Mrs. Walter Zigrang and Mrs. Ray Diggins of Melbourne, was found dead at his home in Gilman Friday afternoon by neighbors who became concerned when they realized they had seen him sitting in a chair by a window for several hours. Death presumably was due to a heart attack. Mr. Mitchell had undergone surgery in June.
The son of Dave and Ida Mitchell, he farmed in the Lynnville vicinity until a few years ago, when he retired and moved to Gilman. He had never married.
Survivors are four brothers, Glen R. Mitchell of Marshalltown, Merrill of New Providence, Leslie of Washington state and Lee of Unionville, Mo., and five sisters, Mrs. Diggins and Mrs. Zigrang of Melbourne; Mrs. Burdette Randall of Eldora, Mrs. Roy Younkin of Newton and Mrs. Leo Koeppel of San Antonio, Texas.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the James Funeral home in Grinnell with burial at Lynnville. ~ The Baxter New Era, Baxter, Iowa, Wednesday, September 30, 1953
