DES MOINES — Bernice McCartney, 78, passed peacefully on May 24, 2010.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 28, with a funeral service following visitation at 11:30 a.m. at Windsor Presbyterian Church, 6301 University in Windsor Heights. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens.
She was born on Dec. 16, 1931, to Roy and Violet Pugh in Grinnell. She has lived in Des Moines since 1950. Bernice will be missed by her children, Kevin (Lisa) McCartney, Cindy (Mike) Sorenson, Beth Cornwell, and Karen (Adam) McCarty; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Wayne Davis, Larry Pugh, Donna Mae McClure, Elaine Waterman and Marilyn Deppe. She is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Donald, and a brother, Roy Richard.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Windsor Presbyterian Church.
