Joe Ann Noble, 79, of Monroe died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, at the Monroe Untied Methodist Church with burial following at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Monroe Emergency Unit or the Monroe United Methodist Church. The daughter of Harold and Gretta Irene (Simms) Powell, Joe Ann was born on Sept. 11, 1930, in Osceola. She was a 1948 graduate of Corydon High School. On June 7, 1949, Joe Ann was united in marriage with Bernley Roscoe Noble at the Little Brown Church. To this union, two daughters, Paula and Sue, were born. Joe Ann worked at First National Bank & Trust in Chariton and, following her family’s move to Monroe in 1955, spent 34 years as a teacher’s aide and secretary to the superintendent for the Monroe and Prairie City-Monroe School District.
She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. Joe Ann enjoyed painting, coffee time with friends, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory are her two daughters, Paula Keuning and her husband, Tom, of Monroe and Sue Warrick and her husband, Dave, of Monroe; six grandchildren; Staci (A.J.) Geer, Drew Keuning, Shawna (Shawn) Dundee, Shyann Warrick, Chad (Amy) Warrick and Denny (Dana) Warrick; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb Geer, Hudson Geer and Ashtyn Dundee. Joe Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
