Larry D. Young, 52, of Kellogg died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home with Pastor David Rex of the Metz Church in rural Newton officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. Memorials in Larry’s name may be left at the funeral home.
The son of Gerald and Lela (Simpson) Young, Larry was born Feb. 13, 1958, in Newton. Larry was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and mushroom hunting. He also loved drawing and music.
Larry is survived by two daughters, Crystal Young and Mariah Young, both of Oxford Junction, Iowa; two sons, Kalo Young and Levi Young, both of Oxford Junction; five grandchildren, Robert, Linda, Kayla, Lexi and Dylan; his mother, Lela Young of Kellogg; two brothers, Wayne Wiley of Aurora, Ill., and Gary (Deb) Young of Newton; one sister, Linda (Stan) Moan of Allenton, Mich.; his ex-wife, Linda Young of Lost Nation, Iowa; and his two favorite aunts, an uncle and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Young, and maternal and paternal grandparents
